His research was conducted in the field
of angiogenesis (the formation of blood vessels) which is
an important element of wound healing, cancer evasion and
inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. He is
now involved in the work of the world famous Blond-McIndoe
Research Centre which is developing new techniques to treat
patients with large burns through the use of cell culture
(growing patients own cells in the laboratory). |
